BBC2
on
New Years
Day...
The Game Show "Identity" that was filmed back in July was
broadcast on BBC2 on New Years Day, giving me the biggest TV audience I
have ever been in front of... up to now!
23/12/07 - I have been
invited onto BBC GMR on New Years Day to comment on the years music
releases on John Ryan's look back at 2007 show.
Latest - NEW GAME SHOW
- "IDENTITY"
26/07/07 - Thanks to
Tony & Angela Bilbruck
who's Star Trek wedding I did back in May I have just been involved with
and recorded my part in a new game show for the
BBC called
"Identity". It's a
new show brought over here by the Beeb from the United States and
features
Donny Osmond as the host. The format of the show is simple,
there is only one contestant and he or she has to pair up twelve
"strangers" with twelve jobs, occupations or hobbies. One of the
strangers was me and out of the twelve possibilities the contestant had
to pick who was the "Trekkie" - (me). I wont tell you whether she got it
right, you will just have to wait and see. They win money for each one
they get right, they are given three chances or lifelines (similar to
Millionaire). It will be on our screens in August through to September
on BBC2
(day-time).

I just have done some more Filming for
Granada TV
at The
Willows RFC ...
-
I have filmed a short scene for a new comedy series staring two new
comedy actors
Adam & Shelly. The overall look and
feel of this new series is that of
"Little Britain". I as ever play a cheesy
DJ
in one scene, blink and you will miss me, but I'm there at what
could be the start of a successful career for two up-and-coming new
stars.
I have over the years appeared on the small
screen quite a few times, in everything from teatime dramas like "Childrens
Ward" right through to hard hitting serious productions like
"Clocking Off" and "Cracker". I always tend to be typecast as the
"DJ", but hey thats what I do! My first screen appearance was in
Childrens Ward as an "extra" or background artist. I blagged my way into
that one after providing Granada TV with some props for the Hospital
set. Studio 12 at Granada is huge (its where they film Stars In Their
Eyes) and they needed a room within the studio set furnishing with DJ /
hospital radio type of looking equipment. Just like the studio the set
for Children's Ward is massive, it has fully furnished rooms, wards,
corridors and offices. The only real way of telling you are not in a
real hospital it to look up. Towering above you is the vast Cass am of
the studio ceiling, complete with TV monitors and very hot studio
lights. After furnishing the set with some relevant equipment I was
invited to stay and watch them filming, so I did. On one such occasion
one of the background artists had to go home early for some reason and I
was offered the option of standing in for him. So jumped at the chance,
little ole me on TV, yes get in there I thought. It was very uneventful
but never the less I had made my first TV appearance.
I got chatting to as many people as possible, asking them everything I
could think of about how to get on TV. I soon found out if you want to,
its not that hard. There are a number of different ways but the path I
took got me in on the inside. I now have a contact within one of the
production companies associated with Granada TV and have built up a
great working relationship with him. From time to time he will
ring me up and offer me some appearance work, work that that puts me in
a far more prominent
role than that of a background artist, and better paid. I also get to mingle with the
principle actors, but I wont name drop. Unless you want me to?
Some of the things you might have seen me in

Children's
Ward - 1993 (series 3)
