Answers
Yes make up a list of all you and your guests favourite tunes, and I will try to incorporate them at the right places throughout the night. If your not sure what your guest might like, a good idea is to include a small slip in with their invitations asking them to pick three of their favourite tunes and get them to send it back with their reply. ....Back to top
Normally most pieces of music selected by Brides & Grooms will already be in my collection, however it doesn't mean that I has everything. If it isn't in my collection I will get a copy of your selected piece of music where possible. If for whatever reason I can't get hold of a copy I will ask you to bring your copy on CD for me to use. If there is a difficulty in getting a copy I will let you know in plenty of time so you can make arrangements to bring your copy. Back to top
I can normally play most of your requested tunes on the night as I has a vast back catalogue of music to choose from. Back to top
The type of music that I normally play is entirely dependant on the event and its guests. I read each situation as I see it and try to tailor the night to the people there. If any of your guests have requests or dedications they are welcome to ask me to play or read them out. Generally speaking at most family occasions I would tend to play a lot of middle of the road music and cheesy tunes. Please note that this does not include Superman, The Birdies Song and Ag-a-do unless specially and specifically asked for by the person who's function it might be. Back to top
You will only be asked to bring along a CD in very exceptional circumstances and I will give you plenty of notice. Back to top
I'm equipped to play many different selections of background music during your meal dependant on the function and occasion. However this facility is sometimes required out of normal contracted times. When required out of normal contracted times it can be arranged for an extra negotiated fee. Back to top
A microphone can be made available at any time during normal contracted times, to designated people only. More microphones can be made available with notice and only on prior request. Back to top
Sometimes DJs are called upon to make certain announcements throughout a nights entertainment, this is not a problem at all. Back to top
The music played by me is at an ear friendly level especially early in the evening when guests are arriving or chatting. As the night progresses the volume is steadily increased within reason. The volume can be increased or lowered at any point on request from the host. Back to top
This varies dependant on the occasion but generally if the function was a wedding or dinner dance I would normally wear a dinner jacket and tie or tuxedo. If the function was a fancy-dress style party night then dress-wise I would also join in with the theme of the evening, wearing one of my many different fancy-dress costumes. Please note that I will arrive at the venue in casual work-wear to un-load, set-up my equipment and do a quick sound check. There after I will change into the appropriate attire. Back to top
The normal contracted times are about 7:00pm - 12:00am but if this increased by an hour either way then food & refreshments would be required at some point. A changing room would not always be required, this is dependant on the venue and dress-code. For example a dressing room would definitely be required if the function was a black tie affaire set in a marquee. Back to top
A ten pound deposit is all that is required to secure your special date with me. On receipt of the deposit, your booking will then processed and a copy of the agreement sent out to you. Your date will then be secured and will not be cancelled in any way. The total price agreed upon receipt of the deposit will not be increased under the original terms. Back to top
The amount of notice needed is entirely dependant on your selves, but to be sure that you can secure my services I advise that you book as soon as possible. I also advice you not to leave it less than six months in advance, remember I cannot guarantee availability till a deposit has been received. Back to top
I where possible will ring you and confirm the details of your booking with you personally a few days after receiving the deposit, however this is not always possible as I tend to work every evening. If when you book me it is better if you can provide me with a daytime or mobile telephone number this will help. I will then ring you once again the Monday evening before the function date once again to confirm all details with you. Back to top
If you cancelled within one week providing you send a written cancellation only half of the agreed fee will be due. Cancellations made before one week providing we receive a written cancellation will incur no penalty charge. Back to top
On most engagements I'm required to arrive for 7:00pm, to be set up and playing background music for about 7:30 this does vary depending on access. I normally arrive between 6:45pm and 7:00pm. Back to top
On function and wedding bookings, I always bring my own disco lights unless suggested that they are not required. Back to top
The type of lighting used by me varies from some of the basic spot style lamps through to the latest state-of-the-art DMX programmable lighting effects. I don't use strobe lighting due to the effect that it can have on epileptic sufferers. However if strobe lighting is required, it can be provided at no extra cost. Back to top
The amount of room that would suit the type of set-up that I have would be approximately two meters by three to four meters. If required a smaller space can be utilised by using less lighting, however this should be kept in proportion to the size of the venue that needs to be catered for to give the optimum results. Back to top
After access has been gained to the function room approximately a minimum of thirty minutes would be required to set up my equipment safely. This time would apply to a standard disco set-up as used by me normally. Larger set-ups would need a greater build time which would depending on equipment used. Back to top
Initially only a ten pound deposit is required with the balance due on the day/night of the event. Back to top
The Balance payment on the night by cheque is ok however to avoid any possibilities of later problems with banks or accounts I suggest you pay in cash. Receipts for the balance paid on the night are available for both cheque and cash payments. Back to top
Payment by my experience is best made during the buffet of an evenings function at approximately 9:30pm. It is then done and out of the way, leaving you to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening without having to remember what you need to do. Back to top
The "First Dance", sometimes dreaded by a lot of bride and grooms is best done when you feel comfortable to do it, but not left too late as you can find yourself unexpectedly worse for wear. As a rule there is no specific time, but by experience I normally get to play it at about 8:30pm. Back to top
As a rule these days people don't want games at their functions, it is seen as a bit of a novelty remembered as something that happened back in the eighties. People are a lot less willing to join in when it is attempted these days. Changing times, trends and moods. If you and your group of guests do want to revive this tradition, I still knows some of the classic party games that used to go don't down a storm. If games are required at your function, prior notice is needed as many of them involve props that I will need to bring along. Back to top
I can and do regularly work with other artists such as bands and singers. I liaises with them so you don't have to, to, we would work out the best sequence of events and timings to blend everything together seamlessly for you. Back to top
Most per-booked events start at about 7:30pm and finish about 12:00 midnight. If you would like the night to carry on past the agreed time it can generally be done in agreement with the venue management. There would be an additional charge of thirty five pound per hour on top of the balance payable. Back to top
My contact number during the day is his mobile phone number which is 07976 971530. You can reach me on this number during the day only as I am unable to answer it in the evening as I will be working. If you would like to leave a TEXT you can at any point and I will get back to you at the nearest opportunity. Please note that it may well be the following day. Back to top
