Anniversaries...
Wedding anniversaries are these days more poignant than ever as more and
more relationships dissolve and break-up. For this reason alone occasions like
this should be admired and treasured. Whether it be a Ruby, Silver or Gold, the
ongoing love and commitment that two people have for each-other should
celebrated by everyone. It could be you and your husband, your mum and dad or
your gran and granddad, its a party that everyone will want to be at. Wedding
anniversaries tend to be more family orientated than any other type of function,
bringing together relative from all over the country if not from all over the
world. There is a good chance that some people might not have seen each-other in
a very long time.
In circumstances like this I tend to keep the first part of the night very quite
and low key as far a the mood of the night is concerned. I give people a chance
to have a good chin-wag and catch-up on old times by playing mellow background
music. Music that is tailored mainly to the age group and likes of the happy
couple themselves. As the night progresses I would liven things up bit by bit
playing music that all ages can enjoy, till we get onto the real party tunes
later in the evening.
